Yep I am still here on Koh Tao. Finished my PADI Open Water diving class today. I will go right on with the advanced classes - including deep dives (around 30 meters) and night dives… Guess that’s gonna be a lot of fun. The weather is still crap but it is raining at least only once in a while. I do not really care as I am under water anyways most of the time. Unfortunately the bad weather has also some effect on the visibility under water. Yesterday was excellent but today was pretty bad. Even more bad is that we took loads of pictures under water today and did all that fun stuff… it was a good exercise in any case. Hope its getting better tomorrow. So long…

Huuuh I arrived at Koh Tao. A beautiful place. I was supposed to to my diving here. Just one minor problem: the weather is miserable. It is raining all the time. Well thats sounds too nice actually - this is not rain any longer I should rather call it…hmm I actually have no words for this mayhem. I have seen some fecking heavy rainfall but Koh Tao might top the list now. The ferry entered the port and we were not able to leave the pier. Most of you remember the summer in Dublin this year. You take all the rain together during those 50 whatever miserable days and let it all fall down one one square meter in Koh Tao in 3 seconds. Guess that hits the bulls eye. IT IS FUCKING MISERABLE!!!. Sure I was aware that it might rain once in a while and I picked some “off season time” on purpose but I really didn’t expect this. There were some Thai people standing at the pier shaking their head in silence. So we could not leave the pier (!) and had to wait an hour or so in the office of the pier station. Really strange. You just saw a “river” coming from the island burying everything under it. Streets are gone and so on… I actually wanted to head to some remote beach at the other side of the island but thats was out of question now. But well I eventually managed to get to some beach and I also found a really nice and cozy bungalow here. Problem remains though: what to do now? I wanted to do some diving but I really doubt that you can see anything underwater at the moment. Such a pity. At least I do not care about a tan :) Julie would have left immediately ;-) Hey Julie are you reading this? So for now I decided to wait for 2 or 3 days or so and see what happens. Maye I will do some diving anyways - if possible. People seem also pretty desperate here: many said that it was raining constantly for a week now and that loads of people left (its quite empty). Say Lope! Also say lope is that tonight is the big Full Moon Party in Ko Phang Nga. Too bad! Right…. will go reading and watch rain falling down now!

Today is my last day in Bangkok - I am going to Koh Tao to do some serious diving (lessons…). Bangkok is a cool place. Food is amazing and everything is quite relaxed. I know thats a funny impression in such a megacity but I really didn’t feel like leaving town immediately (”as usual”). Anyways I spent two evenings with Fanny here. Was a very good time. So I will catch an overnight bus today and then a ferry to this small island. I will head back to Bangkok after this for Fanny’s and Manu’s wedding. Looking forward to that. I have now some 7 hours left here…..shouldn’t be a big deal to kill the time :)

So I finally arrived yesterday morning. The first flight from Dublin to Abu Dhabi was a true horror story. Next to me a woman with a baby - constantly puking farting and making weird noises… and the smell…. Bad luck! The plane was late and I almost missed my connection. But now I am finally here and my first impression of Bangkok is n1! Especially all the food stands on the street are amazing! I met Fanny yesterday for a couple of drinks. Was very nice chatting away. Manu is supposed to arrive in a week or so. I am going to Koh Tao tomorrow - plan is to finally to some diving! But I will come back to Bangkok to meet him. Alright - do not want to waste time - I hear a banana pancake shouting at me ;-)

So I went to the Nine Inch Nails + Foo Fighters concert in Marlay Park. We were late due to heavy traffic…..as usual….and missed the first band. Cannot even remember their name. Anyways… So we arrived and this band started and the music was just shite. I could not believe that this nonsense was Nine Inch Nails. Ok I haven’t heart anything from them for ages but this Nu Metal bullshit was too bad. I still like the old stuff though. But anyways - NIN was a just disappointing.
But Foo Fighters were great imho. It was just a good gig - relaxed atmosphere and no bullshit. Some funny stories from Master Grohl about his previous Ireland experiences topped the gig off! Good times!
The wonder: I have my Fusion hoodie back! I went back to the bar where I lost it (someone (accidentally) stole it…) and asked around for it and the nice lady behind the counter checked their “lost+found room” and eventually came back with my beloved Fusion hoodie! Hooray!!

I am certainly not in a blogging mood those days. Not much happened anyways… The Irish summer is just horrible. Last year was so much better. Simply depressing! I bought a ticket for Nine Inch Nails and Foo Fighters tomorrow. Not that I am such a huge fan but oh well - why not. Ticket was terribly expensive though…
Missed DJ Nookie last weekend. Too bad!
Shock. A guy from the office got killed two weeks ago basically around the corner here in South Dublin. I don’t know him personally but I am just asking myself wtf is going on in this city? The murder took place in Sandymount - a pretty safe and “rich” quarter here in Dublin. Really disturbing. RIP.

Maybe I should finally apply for Irish television!
